Statement of Apology

Dear Community Members and Pride Attendees,

As many of you know, it is our mission and objective to hold a family friendly event in celebration of Pride in Reno. Unfortunately, not all of our acts this year upheld this objective. As such, we at Our Center and Northern Nevada Pride would like to extend our sincerest apologies for our first headliner’s act at Northern Nevada Pride on Saturday, July 23, 2016.

All of our entertainers are informed that their acts must be family friendly. This was also confirmed with each headliner’s representative prior to the event. Unfortunately, the act did not meet our standards or expectations in regard to this. While this does not excuse what happened, we offer this statement as an explanation and apology to those who may have been offended. That was never our intent and we are taking additional steps to ensure this does not happen with our headliners or other entertainers in the future.

We continue to be committed to providing a Pride Celebration that includes all members of our extended community, especially families, and to host an event where all feel comfortable attending. If you have any questions or would like to speak to a member of our board directly, please contact us at your convenience.

Sincerely,
Jeromy
