Free HIV/STD testing is on the first and third Friday of each month from 3pm-6pm at Our Center

Our Center partners with Washoe County Health Services to offer free, fast and comprehensive testing for HIV and other STD’s. In addition to our same day rapid HIV test, we also test for gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis-those results are available in a week. Tests involve a simple finger stick that tests for antibodies in the blood and results are ready in 15-20 minutes.
Our Center wants to empower people with an awareness of their own situations and allow them to take control of their lives. We encourage sexually active people to get tested every three months.

Change Point is a program of Northern Nevada HOPES and is Nevada’s first legal syringe services program. Change Point provides syringe services, harm reduction supplies, counseling and Free HIV and Hep C testing. Change Point embraces diversity and advocates for medically underserved groups in the community.
Located behind Northern Nevada Hopes in a small restored house, you can expect to be seen almost right away by a friendly staff that is LGBTQ knowledgeable. Change Point has created a comfortable and safe space for the LGBTQ community.
HOPES offers rapid HIV testing as well as all STD testing. You will need to make an appointment to see one of their doctors or nurse practitioner. In most cases same day to next day appointments are available by call at 8am in the morning to schedule your appointment.
Services are not free but if you are uninsured HOPES works on a sliding scale and has programs to help those who might need financial assistants.

Washoe County offers HIV and STD testing at their downtown Reno clinic. Testing is not free but they do accept some insurance plans, Medicaid and based on income work on a sliding fee scale.
