Stacey Spain

Executive Director

Stacey is a non-profit and public sector administrator with over 25 years of experience in education, arts, and program management. Their experience includes over a decade of work at Sierra Arts Foundation as Program Manager and Executive Director.

At CharitySmith as Executive Director they managed over two million dollars of memorial and scholarship funds annually and they have also worked as the Grant and Fund Development Manager and Public Art Specialist for the City of Reno. She works in theater as a playwright, director and actor.

Theseus Moth

Grant Administrative Assistant

Theseus Moth, Admin Grant Assistant, has completed a Certificate in Administrative Assisting with TMCC. He has also completed the Introduction to Federal Grants Training. He has experience working for a few different places as a front desk assistant.

Theseus prepares information to present to our bookkeeper including working directly in QuickBooks Online. He is a transman and has volunteered at Our Center since August 2022, beginning work here in April 2023. Theseus is a streamer specializing in horror games.

Hannah Alfaro

Marketing Coordinator

Hannah Alfaro received their master’s degree in journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno, and has worked as a Communication Specialist for six years, creating, editing, and scheduling news and website content for various organizations.

In addition to writing work, they also have experience designing and implementing social media and marketing campaigns, including the creation of marketing material and management of press relations.

Matt Kopicko

Program and Prevention Manager

Our Center has grown its staff to include Matt Kopicko who is a proud member of our local LGBTQIA+ community, and values diversity, dignity, and equity for all. He is known for his work in behavioral health and community service. Matt has worked in the field of addiction treatment and services for over 5 years, including his roles as Behavioral Health Team Manager at The Difference at Mount Rose, Community Services Staff at RISE, Certified Peer Support Specialist at Northern Nevada HOPES, and Case Manager at Hope Springs. His roles focused on assisting individuals, particularly in the area of medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders, inpatient residential substance use treatment, and non-profit services for members of the local community who have experienced homelessness. Kopicko is open about his own journey in recovery, which has driven his commitment to helping others facing similar challenges. Matt is currently working on finishing his Bachelor’s in Social Work at the University of Nevada Reno, and has completed his Minor in Addiction Treatment and Services.

Matt will be working with program facilitators at Our Center to expand programming and continue to create a warm and welcoming environment for our community. Matt’s work will center on Prevention education and activities for our youth including school visits, safe and sober center activities and managing evidence based support groups with curriculum that encourages social, emotion coping skills.
