About Us
Mission
We work to establish and maintain a safe, empowering, and supportive center in Northern Nevada that addresses advocacy, education and services.
Build
a foundation to sustain a community center, where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together for support, education, and social activities;
Connect
community members, organizations, and resources to encourage advocacy, cultural development, and personal well-being.
My experience as a volunteer has truly been so incredible. I think the purpose of life is to love and this facility is a beautiful representation of that. The Our Center is a loving space within our community that accepts you for you. Being able to connect with the youth of the LGBTQ+ community is so rewarding. The creative space the center gives you to explore and create is so amazing and it’s something I wish I had when I was younger, so I’m very happy to be a part of it now and watch the magic happen for everyone that comes into the center.

History
Before Our Center, there was an LGBTQIA+ community center called A Rainbow Place. Unfortunately, A Rainbow Place was under-funded and closed its doors after many years. We saw the hole this created in the community and decided to do something about it.
Fundraising began for a new LGBTQIA+ community center in Reno, Nevada.
The first Northern Nevada Pride was held. All proceeds went to Build Our Center.
Our Center opened our doors on April 29, 2016.
Northern Nevada Pride’s biggest event to date raised more than $50,000 for Our Center.
Our Center held our first formal event, Rainbows at the Ranch.
