Our Center Prevention Coalition
Strengthening Community Partnerships for Prevention
Understanding the Risks
At Our Center, we are building a strong network of community partners to amplify the prevention message and support LGBTQ+ youth. Through collaboration, we work to reduce suicide rates, address mental health challenges, and combat substance use among middle school and high school students.
Our coalition operates within a national framework for prevention and is expanding its reach through the Partnership for Success Grant, funded by the Nevada State Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public and Behavioral Health. This grant enhances our ability to engage with schools, law enforcement, healthcare providers, and other key sectors.

What We Do?
Our coalition focuses on four key areas of impact, driven by the goals of the Partnership for Success Grant: Through partnerships and programs like Sources of Strength, we provide resources, training, and outreach to ensure prevention efforts reach the youth who need them most.
Reducing Suicide Rates
among LGBTQ+ and high-risk youth
Addressing Depression & Anxiety
through education and resources
Preventing Vaping
in middle school and high school students
Stopping the Illegal Use of Prescription Medications
Recognizing Our Impact
LGBTQ+ youth experience higher rates of harassment, violence, polysubstance use, suicidality, and mental health challenges. Our Center creates a space where LGBTQ+ youth are safe to embrace who they are, access much needed support, and nurture healthy relationships through recurring programs we offer.
Our Center works to bridge the gap for LGBTQ+ youth when accessing services by creating an inclusive space that is gender-affirming, culturally sensitive, and empowering. Pain, anger, and rejection shouldn’t be at the center of our LGBTQ+ youth’s narrative, Our Center works to actively welcome them and our allies since we opened in April of 2016.
This is a friendly and welcoming place for LQBTQ+ teens and young adults. There are plenty of groups, meeting and gatherings for people to choose from or if you have questions, the staff are happy to answer.

Coalitions are strongest when they bring together both community leaders and grassroots advocates—everyone has a role to play! If your organization is interested in joining the coalition and helping us expand prevention efforts, we’d love to connect with you.

How to Join the Coalition
We welcome new partners who share our commitment to prevention. Whether you're an educator, healthcare provider, law enforcement officer, or community leader, you can help us spread the message and create lasting change.
Coalition members do not provide funding—instead, they help share information, promote prevention efforts, and engage the community in meaningful ways.
